Are you interested in the fascinating interplay between biophysical properties of therapeutical proteins/peptides and their fate upon injection? Are you looking for an exciting hands-on learning opportunity to supplement your studies?

About the department
Biophysics and Formulation is a part of Global Research Technologies in R&D Novo Nordisk. Our department is responsible for biophysical characterisation and early formulation development of new peptide and protein molecules, primarily to contribute to selection of the best molecules for to take into clinical development as potential new drugs. The department operates a large and diverse set of instruments, including HPLC/UPLC, dynamic light scattering, thermal denaturation, fluorescence spectroscopy, imaging etc.
As an Intern you will work in close cooperation with scientists and technicians daily, but with a high degree of independence. Your task will involve development of a high-throughput in-vitro model for prediction of solubility properties of the protein/peptide upon injection to human subcutaneous tissue. The project builds on a large body of experience at Novo Nordisk. Literature search, practical work in the lab as well as data analysis and presentation will be central elements of your daily work.
- Internship period: 3-6 months
- Working hours: Flexible (min. 18 and max. 37 hours a week)
- Start date: Preferably during 2019 – exact data to be agreed upon
- Internships are remunerated, if your educational track allows
A Danish full time work permit is required
We are looking for an Intern who is currently studying on a Master’s degree in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Physics, Protein Chemistry or a closely related field. The optimal candidate finds interest in the field between in-vivo Biology/Physiology on one side and biophysical properties of protein and peptides on the other. A systematic approach to literature search, practical work in the laboratory as well as data managing is highly preferred. Knowledge of image analysis and high-through-put assays are assets.
As a person, you are outgoing with a strong personal drive and dedication and capable of working on your own as well as being part of a larger group. Bringing a healthy sense of humor to your work even when the pressure is on is highly appreciated.
